SCIENTIFIC EVENTS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHAEOLOGY AND SPECIAL HISTORICAL DISCIPLINES OF THE FACULTY OF HISTORY OF THE BELARUSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY IN 2022

Abstract

The Department of Archaeology and Special Historical Disciplines of the Faculty of History of Belarusian State University organized two scientific events in 2022.

The International Scientific Conference “Archaeology of Belarus and Neighboring Territories: People and Objects” was held at the Faculty of History of the country’s leading university on October 5–7, 2022. The plenary and sectional sessions were attended by about 80 representatives of domestic and foreign scientific, educational, and museum institutions. Among them were staff members and postgraduate students of BSU, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Polotsk State University named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Arkadz Kuliashou Mogilev State University, the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble, the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the State Hermitage Museum (Russia), and others.

For young researchers just beginning their path in science, a separate student section was organized. The conference was held in person; however, remote participation via the Skype for Business platform was also available.
